Pilgri mage

The pilgrimage to the Christ Child

Set out with pilgrimage companions and enjoy following in the footsteps of Ferdinand Sertl, whose miraculous healing led to the construction of the Christkindl pilgrimage church.

History of the pilgrimage to Christkindl

The origin of the place of grace Christkindl lies in the time around 1695.

The people who once brought their worries and needs to the Christkindl did so out of the belief that God would answer their prayers in this very place. We people of today admire them, but also evaluate them critically because of their unshakable trust.

There has long been no talk of miracles

Perhaps there are none any more, the divine favor has got lost to us, yes, there never were any, they were all errors and logically explainable with today's state of knowledge.

Pöttmesser crib

It is one of the largest nativity scenes in the world.

The mechanical crib

Karl Klauda (1855 - 1939) is the creator of this work, most of whose figures are moveable on bicycle chains, surely the only one of its kind. The almost 300 figures stroll through a rich Biblical landscape.

Crib Association Christkindl

The non-profit association sees its task in the maintenance and exhibition of the two valuable nativity scenes owned by the parish of Christkindl.
